Republicans plan to confirm Trump's Supreme Court pick before the November elections

President Trump and Senate Republicans plan to move quickly to install a new Supreme Court justice to replace Anthony M. Kennedy — launching an election-year fight over a decision that is likely to reshape the court for a generation.

Trump said Wednesday afternoon that the effort to replace Kennedy, a perennial swing vote on the court who announced his retirement earlier in the day, will start “immediately,” and Senate Republicans said they plan to hold a confirmation vote in the fall.

Trump praised Kennedy as having been a “great justice” and added, “Hopefully we will pick someone who is just as outstanding.” The president said he would select a nominee from a list he released during the campaign to assuage the concerns of conservatives skeptical over whom he would pick for the court.

“We have to pick a great one. We have to pick one that’s going to be there for 40 years, 45 years,” Trump said at a campaign rally Wednesday night in Fargo, N.D. “We need intellect. We need so many things.”

and do everything until then, to change it. We are in the crucible. We'll have some back-up mentally this weekend w the protests. A LOT of this is bc the Mueller investigation may be coming to a head. Independence Day next week. Keep yourself together my friend. Ugh. so unnecessary to do all this. dt is a spoiled kid. This is what happens when we start...RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX...giving people the benefit of the doubt. Repubs are the scourge of the world.

To maximize the motivation of their base and serve as a distraction away from immigration, Russia, and all the other scandals.

They'll have plenty of time in the lame duck period to do the vote.

They don't know much, but they do know how to manipulate their base. They will use this to maximum effect

That's one reason why I'm not itching for a big fight over this one. A quick confirmation would actually be a gift as it relates to fall turnout only. Obviously in the long term, we're fucked as far as the SCOTUS goes, but that's been true since Drumpf was elected so nothing new.

For removal next Nov. , mine is Cruz, the slimy lying trump, putin hugging backer needs to be removed from Congress in Nov. . No excuse for them being in OUR government any longer, period. Especially the lying snake Cruz. He'll vote right along with him to destroy a lot more , including Social Security, and all health care.
