Wife either works or worked for one of those fake "Crisis Pregnancy Centers" that lie to the girls and preach preach preach just long to go past the legal termination period.

She may have shifted from a project like that to concentrate on adoption for unwanted births to take the heat off him. I have no links, just my aging memory.
