Need advise on what to do.

Every July 4th some local R politician comes into our neighborhood sometime during the night and puts a flag at the end of each driveway with his business card attached. Keep in mind that ours is a private neighborhood governed by a condo association with by-laws that state we cannot have political signs or for sale signs or anything posted on our lawns. I have driven through other nearby subdivisions and don't see that he's done this in any of those.

I'm wondering if I should make a big stink about it or just let it fly? Am I being too petty? Last year I just took the flag out and threw it away (plastic flags made in China no less). Today driving in from somewhere I saw a guy walk down his driveway and take his flag out. I'm pretty sure that most people in here thinks it's "pretty" to have them all along the streets. This is mostly a senior community.

I could always put an anti-Trump sign out to see if I get reported to the board and when they confront me I can tell them I'll take down my sign as soon as this republican jerk comes and takes down his flags.

and ask if taxpayer funds were used for the purchase of these flags.

I used to be in public administration in this town, so I am very familiar with how publicly funded institutions operate and how careful we used to be about our use of taxpayer money. I used to get calls at home from angry taxpayers if the building manager left a light on in the building after hours.

a flag in their yard. Change Wexton to whomever is running against you local R-guy.

How nice, send her a note: "Thanks for the flag. To properly thank you, I am making a $20 donation to your opponent and our future representative, Jennifer Wexton. PS. Since Comstock and Trumpy have screwed up our country so bad, most people don't feel like celebrating the 4th. So, we'll save you flag for when the Democrats are back in power and you're just another shrill, angry voice in the background. Ta-ta for now."

This guy isn't running for anything right now. I don't think his term is up yet (he's a township trustee), but I could still tweak that statement a bit and use it.

That's how I got my previous Tea Party representative, Steve Southerland, to stop selling my contact info to Republican groups. I called his office and told them every single time I got an email or a phone call from a Republican organization I would donate to my choice of Democratic candidate. I also told that to every Republican group that called. Once they realized I was serious, they stopped harassing me.

The real complaint I had was the way he got my info - I called to let him know that I disagreed with his first vote in Congress.

Many of my neighbors have always urged me to run for a condo board position, but I want nothing to do with that. However, the upside of that is that I would feel like I was in a position to call this guy's office and tell him to come out and pull them all out - that it was in violation of our by-laws.
