(5,199 posts)about an ex-House member named John LeBoutillier, who lays out why Trump won't last to the end of 2019. Nicole Sandler has interviewed him a couple of times, and he's not the worst R I ever heard.

(7,681 posts)Sure, what's not to love about Rick Wilson?
The man who brought you the infamous Jeremiah Wright 'God Damn America' ad
And before that the equally infamous Max Cleland/Osama bin Laden ad

So totally lovable.

(24,304 posts)He is only anti-Trump because one of his guys got beat by trump.
I'll take his help now but...
Any of his nominees, like Jeb Bush, McCain, Romney would do the same shit as trump and the GOP are doing now,
they would just say their horrible ideas less offensively and better than trump does.
One of his guys will be the nominee someday and you will get back to hating him when he reverts back to a GOP asshat.
Remember this post then.

(4,644 posts)None of the repub you mention would have gotten us into an imbecilic, ruinous trade war, nor give away 70 years of carefully built strategic alliances to please Russian masters. On the foreign policy front Trump stands completely alone, unique, and traitorous.
Now, on the domestic front, thats another matter. On that, theyre all Republicans. Calvanists at heart (if they had hearts).

(6,139 posts)all those repubs you mentioned are pro free trade, against russia, pro immigration, etc. - you would certainly never see toddlers in cages with them or flirting with neo nazi militia groups. Yes, they are also anti SS, anti healthcare, anti poor, etc. But there is a difference between fiscal austerity and fascism.

(37,166 posts)All of these people have been Republican strategists, Republican campaign top staffers, and RW media figures. They spent their careers building what has become Trump's base to give them the margin of victory they needed to get power and enact RW pet policies.
The situation is more like: The temporarily embarrassed creator of my enemy is the guy who will say things I like but will shiv me in the kidneys the moment I've done all the heavy lifting for him.
