Elizabeth Warren Asked About Why She Took DNA Test at Iowa Event

by Josh Feldman | Jan 5th, 2019, 12:07 pm

At an event in Iowa today, Senator Elizabeth Warren got a question about the DNA test she took.

“Why did you undergo the DNA testing and give Donald Trump more fodder to be a bully?” one person asked Warren.

“I’m glad you asked that question,” Warren said. “I am not a person of color, I am not a citizen of a tribe. Tribal citizenship is very different from ancestry. Tribes and only tribes determine tribal citizenship, and I respect that difference.”

“My decision was I’m just going to put it all out there,” she continued.

Warren said at one point she “can’t stop Donald Trump from what he’s going to do” or from “hurling racial insults.”

She should say that she just wanted to know for herself. Undergo? Makes it sound like it was difficult or invasive.

… such a big issue. She was told by her grandmother she had Native American blood and she was proud... in the 1960s and 1970s, I recall it was a popular thing to have... she never claimed, "I'm an Indian!" and did not benefit...

She put it on a form, which turned out to be something considering an error. Is this going to be like Hillary's emails? A story that never changes... A candidate that can't ever say anything that will satisfy the media... so, it gets covered again and again.

That and the nonsensical media debate about her "likeability" = sexism is alive and still thriving in our society.

Has the debate ever included male candidates?
