Trump inclined to declare national emergency if talks continue to stall

By Boris Sanchez, CNN

(CNN) - President Donald Trump is inclined to declare a national emergency to secure military funding for his long-promised southern border wall if talks between administration officials and top lawmakers from both parties continue to stall, a White House official told CNN on Saturday.

While not the administration's preferred plan, the use of emergency powers to fund the wall "provides a way out" amid a series of contentious meetings and disagreements among Department of Homeland Security officials and Democratic lawmakers over basic facts related to border security, the official said.

"We can only stay like this for so long," said the official, who attended both meetings with congressional officials at the White House led by Trump this week, explaining that factual disputes have hung up discussions.

As the partial government shutdown enters a third week over the funding dispute, Trump has publicly said he would reject any plan that includes less than $5.6 billion for a border wall. The President acknowledged the possibility of using emergency powers to fund the wall during remarks in the Rose Garden on Friday, saying "we can call a national emergency because of the security of our country."

"The severity of Mr. Trump’s impairment warrants an evaluation—I do not believe there is any way around it, unless we wish to gamble with the nation’s security and, realistically, the future of humankind itself."

If he cannot get a quarter to a tenth of the cost, why is he blustering so much for a tiny down payment?

2nd point, how can it be a national emergency if there is already a wall, a border patrol force, and net zero immigration as it stands already?

Whomever is the first serious republican who tells him to fuck off may get the initial hatred of his 30% deadenders base, but they'll be positioned for a takeover when his house of cards comes crashing down to take over the party. I can't believe none of them have taken the chance. Romney May do this but in the most flaccid, milk toast way possible.

Plus, if the Democrats give him the money, he'll tout it as a win and it will validate his tactic of shutting down the government. However, I don't think the Democrats will cave on this one.

The House better get ready to bring charges against the fake POTUS five minutes after Trump and his Russian handlers go this route.

What does Shitler plan on doing in his "national emergency"? Declare martial law? Start rounding up democrats opposed to his horseshit vanity wall that Mexico was gonna pay for?

Grab the money from the DOD. There is currently 13 billion obligated from last year's budget for DOD construction projects that have not started yet. They would cancel some of those and reobligate the funds towards a wall.

misuse of power and safety for the United States of America is abuse and impeachable.

Taking orders from an enemy of the state, Russia, hinders the United States of America national security. Congress must address it. Oh wait, Republicans are in line with shithole.
