no matter how much Trump spews lies and bullshit...
"Sounded Presidential"
"Turned the tide"
"Changed the conversation"
"Put the Democrats on the defensive"
"A different Trump"
"Was bold and decisive"
"Made his case to the American People"
It will be nauseating.

(86,943 posts)The good thing is, he'll probably be in more immediate trouble for abuse of power. And from watching Pence's body language I'm thinking there's a 25th Amendment claim about to issue forth. And I think that the timing will be key in what happens at that point because Pence is probably about to be indicted. I'm kind of expecting a serious sequence of events to take place on Friday and the days following. If the fan will be sending us particulate matter, it will be right around then, I'm thinking and kind of hoping. I want this to be over, it's consuming my attention.

(7,725 posts)My stomach has been a knot for so long it's the new normal. All over one family who's so greedy, they'd ally themselves w a monied business partner. It's exhausting and a detour we just didn't need after the successes of Pres. Obama.

(86,943 posts)I started counseling shortly after the election and my counselor said that the majority of her clients were in a state of shock about it. And it hasn't changed for the better since.
I'm surrounded by prime public land and it's scary to watch the battles and range wars that continue to this day out here. I'm glad Zinke's out but he is just one of a line of willing charlatans.

(3,284 posts)IMO this is a lose/lose for the Dems. This is a good move by the repubs because they have nothing to lose. The speech and rebuttal will be meaningless as it will be the pundits telling us what was said that will carry the day. The Dems were forced to participate but have nothing at all to gain. I do not look forward to this fiasco at all.

(7,725 posts)Tonight's airing is bad, but, the repetition coming from the pundents (who are all working and getting paid to opine), is going to take us to Feb.

(28,346 posts)the scattered singular token mouthpieces for Trump scattered at each network; who will be verbally dismembered, as they usually are.
The network anchors and reporters will by and large call it for what it is. Trump is going to come off like the twisted lying dipshit that he is and I think the media will largely call him on it.
I think we will hear:
"Cheapens the Office"
"False"
"Outright Lie"
"Disconnected from reality"
"Playing to his base"
"Looking for an exit strategy"
"Misleading"
"False crisis narrative"
and so on
