Trump may find himself in a good old municipal worker problem

There are people working without pay. There are people “furloughed.” And then Trump implemented a pay freeze for most federal workers. A billionaire stiffed workers to help cover the cost of his tax giveaway to the rich. https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/29/politics/trump-executive-order-federal-workers-pay-freeze/index.html

Freezing pay for workers who happen to be voters and happen to be married to voters and happen to be friends with voters when you’re a billionaire seems like a really bad idea. If Democrats are wise they should go very public with restoring raises for federal employees and guaranteeing those raises if they take power.

Also, when do federal workers take to the streets? What are the unions doing? It seems like federal workers have made themselves invisible in this shutdown. They need to be seen.

Federal unions have little power. Most feds are not members and the unions can't strike. marylandblue Jan 2019 #1
