A modest proposal for Democratic primaries

First off, I think we are in uncharted waters. The situation at hand is un-precidented and requires un-precidented actions.
Second, I know we have a large number of well qualified and well intentioned individuals hoping to seek the Presidential Office.
I also know that the same old same old horses out of the barn running willy-nilly across the political landscape will give us almost two years of distraction at this point.
I, as a life long Democrat, would like my party to set an example for future political decision making and help us through this crisis.
My hope would be to have all Democrat candidates assemble at differing venues in order to hold forums for discussion of our platform; where we envision our future and write a comprehensive platform that addresses the needs of our nation.
Out of these discussions, open to the public, will emerge a leader. Could be one of our current fine field; could be someone out of the blue.
Forget the enormous cost of running multiple campaigns and the divisions that process creates. Start by setting an agenda for the future and finding solutions to present as a unified political force. Let the cream rise to the top.
I may be asking too much to turn this well oiled machine around but I sense we have a dire need to accomplish a change.
