Donald Trumps former campaign chairman Paul Manafort shared polling data on the 2016 election with a Russian man linked to Moscows intelligence agencies, according to special counsel Robert Mueller.
Mueller, who is investigating Russias interference in the 2016 election and any coordination with Trumps team, said in a court filing last year that the FBI assesses that Kilimnik has ties to a Russian intelligence service and had such ties in 2016.
Kilimnik, 48, trained at a university connected to Russias military intelligence agency, formerly known as the GRU, which allegedly spearheaded the Kremlins effort to disrupt the US election in 2016. The US has concluded that the Russian operation was ordered by President Vladimir Putin to help Trumps campaign.
Mueller has also previously said that Rick Gates, Manaforts deputy on the Trump campaign, described Kilimnik as a former Russian intelligence officer with the GRU, which Kilimnik denies.

(13,776 posts)Presumably the OP is about how the Russians, using that data, managed to fine-tune the theft of the election by changing the vote in just the right states, by just the right amount, to give Trump the electoral college win. Not that that's the definitive conclusion anybody has reached yet, but it seems pretty plausible to me. Trump's win was like threading the eyes of three needles called Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Remember the original Senate report said the Russians fooled with peoples search engine results in very specific parts of states.

Showed him apparently sharing stuff with the ruskies- polling info.

(51,660 posts)to target specific groups via social media the Summer of 2016. Swalwell said this type of info is proof that there was collusion to get tRump elected. Manafort is afraid of being harmed by Russia (and his family) and that is why he is lying to Mueller. He already has had all his assets seized and is looking at serious jail time so he is more afraid of Russia than tRump or Mueller.
This all shows COLLUSION! He conspired with an enemy to interfere with an election. Manafort needs to say, "Yes, I shared this info with Russia". Period.

(53,978 posts)This has always been the smoking gun which connects trump to Putin and Mueller has had it all along.
Wonder if Manafort's attorneys made a mistake or purposely leaked this?
Maybe since his assets have been seized he hasn't been able to pay them.

No, Romney wasn't right on Russia in 2012, but he wasn't completely wrong either, and using Romney's comments as a "take us back to the 80's" campaign ad was a short term political gain for President Obama but a long term loss for the country.
