Why hasn't the Gang of 8 immigration bill been revived

It passed with bipartisan support in the Senate in 2013. It had provisions for improved border security, including a double fence in some areas, as well as immigration reforms. Boehner killed it in the House by not even bringing it for a vote. Couldn't it pass now in the House? Trump even said he would support it 2 years ago.

before Stephen Miller, Bannon, Kelly and company strongly advised him to drop it ASAP.

That bill could pass the house now, but probably not the Senate.

Granted, it would have to pass all over again, but it seems like a pretty good bill and it's COMPREHENSIVE. The big problem, to me, with Trump's "wall" is that is doesn't address WHY immigrants, legal and illegal, continue to come to the US, abuses by employers, etc. His wall is an ineffective bandaid.

But the Senate will not take it up. The base wants the DACA kids kicked out just slightly less than they want the wall.
