Message on the home page for my Discover card account. (Original Post) WillowTree Jan 2019 OP
Did you call Discover's phone number on the back of your card to make sure it's legit? TheBlackAdder Jan 2019 #1
No, but it's been there for a few days now. If it wasn't for real, it would've been fixed by now. WillowTree Jan 2019 #2

I hope beyond hope that this is true recognition that it is their turn to help their customers the old-fashioned way, and not a short-term loan scam. I have recently opened a mortgage and transaction account with US Bank, and found them to be very helpful in crafting a loan solution.

I hate to be snarky, but being credit card companies/banks, I'm sure they will offer to delay your payments with no penalty until the shutdown is over, (of course charging you 24-36% during that period) And/Or lend you all the more money you need at 24-36%.........
AND to do this the company will require you to send them a notarized affidavit certifying your job with the Federal Govt, including your local bank president's signature, a copy of your income taxes for 2018, the name of your first born child, a certified accounting of your checking and savings accounts, your grocery receipts for the past two years, etc etc etc etc...LOL

Could someone check it out and inform us. It would be truly wonderful if the banks/card companies were doing something humanitarian, but from past history (esp Wells Fargo's corrupt and continued fraud of their customers) they are suspect until proven differently..........Sorry, but my bet is on my first paragraph......

Think of how rich all the "payday loan" people are getting off of this period. And their methods entrap customers in such a way that their interest can run 400-500%......Talk to Elizabeth Warren, she has screamed about "PayDay" loan companies behavior from the rooftops to impose some legislation and the Repubs in Senate and House literally just laughed at her............
