Trump's worst racist Native American remarks came tonight, and I'm fucking sick of it.

I need to clarify up front and say that I am sick of his racism in its entirety. I don't want to give the impression that "only" the Native American comments sicken me.

But there is a certain "gleefulness" in his Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" tweets, and the one tonight has to be the worst to date. I'm not going to post it, or even paraphrase it.

I'm filled with so much anger right now that I don't have the words to fully articulate what I'm feeling...and DUers who are familiar with some of the hats I wear know that one of them is "writer."

There have been responses and re-tweets on Twitter that suggest that he doesn't know that when he shits out one of his "Pocahontas" tweets, he's insulting all Native Americans.

And THAT is a BIGGER LIE than the ones Trump tells himself. OF COURSE he knows what he's doing. He's making these remarks with the same "I could shoot someone and get away with it" arrogance that runs through every word and action of his "presidency," but this comes with the thrill of KNOWING that he is being blatantly racist, and NO ONE in a position to remove him from office will BLINK.

OK, end of rant. Thanks for listening.

If you saw the tweet, you'd know what I'm talking about, but I'm so furious right now that I'm not going to post it or give the specifics. You'll find it elsewhere in recent GD posts, if you want to see it. One DUer asked us to report it (I did), and apparently Trump deleted and re-tweeted it for reasons unknown...I didn't see any editing. Maybe an aide deleted it and he had a fit.

DJT made a comment that referenced both Wounded Knee and the Little Big Horn, and - shockingly, I know - not in any sort of appropriate, responsible, or reverential manner.

One is a national monument and, for that matter, a national cemetery (which is closed at the moment due to Trump's idiotic budget shutdown); the other is a national landmark.

Rough estimates are that some 600 people died at Little Big Horn, and some 300 at Wounded Knee.

It there truly nothing he won't dishonor? I mean, he is a New Yorker; would he go piss at the site of the World Trade Center for laughs?

The truth of the matter is that we may never SEE the bottom,

It's like someone working out at the gym, and they have that hunger to do more reps or add more weight, or both, because once they hit a plateau, those who are truly driven and motivated don't know the meaning of "plateau."

So take that ethic, which is a positive, and then use the same logic on negative behavior. Trump has an endless thirst to see how much he can get away with, and so far he's gotten away with it ALL, so there's no motivation to dial it back.

The motherfucker is eyeballing disaster relief funds for his "wall"...he knows 800,000 Federal workers and their families are without pay...he knows members of the Coast Guard are going to foof pantries and getting relief from Veterans groups. He knows, he knows, he knows,...and he doesn't care.

25. And you hit on the central problem with all of this.
Mon Jan 14, 2019, 01:50 AM

He announced "I'm going to come in with a wrecking ball if I'm elected," and it's the manner in which voters processed that statement that gave us what we have right now.

Yes, the Electoral College handed him the presidency. Yes, he lost the popular vote by 3.000.000 votes. Yes, far too many voters just sat on their asses out of apathy.

Ryan and McConnell saw him as their ticket to ride, because all they cared about was a Republican majority in the House and Senate and a Republican in the Oval Office to rubber-stamp their agendas. Ryan got his tax cuts, and his "farewell statement" expressed remorse over not being able to gut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. McConnell got two judges on the Supreme Court and scores of "conservative judges" elsewhere. And the only thing Trump "accomplished" on his own was a glut of "executive orders" to unravel Obama's legacy.

But it's the "base"...the ignorant fools who think Trump is "one of them"...the ones "freed" to proudly wear their racism and ignorance on their sleeves...that thought Trump would ride that wrecking ball into America in a way that would benefit them the most.

And they continue to cheer him on.

I can't pretend to understand why there isn't such an outpouring of anger and grief over where we are now that even McConnell would realize that he's complicit in all of this, and that Trump's legacy will also be his own. Ryan's gone, he was hated anyway, and he never would have lifted a finger to stop any of this. McConnell may be the same...he's equally despised for different reasons. But if he has his eye on re-election in 2020...if he thinks that the "blue wave" might extend to the Senate in the next election...he could end this. I said it in another thread, but if McConnell approached Nancy Pelosi and said "Let's DO this...you rally the votes in the House and I'll do the same in the Senate"...this would end. But I don't see a conscience or concern beyond his own self-survival. I see him staying just close enough to Trump to give the illusion of "support," and the intention to ride out the storm, continuing the carnage after 2020 with either Trump, or a different Republican president and his full Senate majority intact.

I don't know what it's going to take. Mueller? We don't know. Much of that depends on whether Barr is confirmed, or Whitaker remains, or some other dirtbag who has expressed outrage over Mueller is in the A.G. seat.

Maybe pressure from the multiple House investigations will push Trump over the edge, to the point where he pulls something even McConnell can't ignore.

All I know is that I don't know.
