The sad reality

At some point the congress will have to do something to fix the current situation, even if temporarily. This will require the cooperation of a few republicans. Which means Nancy and Chuck will have to put together a package that can get that support. This also means that there will have to be "some" cover for those republicans. So we're going to have to find that "bone" we can throw them so we can all move forward. And I suspect Trump will just rinse and repeat and we'll be back here in 3 months or something.

Unless we have a huge majority in the senate, we'll always have to deal with them (and the Blue Dogs). And 202 is a long time to wait until we reopen the government.

I don't think we can have the G down until 2020. Something is going to have to give. But right now neither side looks like they will give in.

not just Trump's wall crisis.
To that I would say it's up to the GOP to figure it out and bring the Dems something they can vote for, Not the Dem's job to save their fucking asshole of a President.
