Mueller scrutinizing breakfast event held with Nunes, Flynn

Special counsel Robert Mueller is scrutinizing a breakfast event held before President Trump's inauguration, which was attended by Trump allies and foreign officials, as part of the ongoing Russia investigation, according to a new Daily Beast report.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan and the special counsel's team are looking into a breakfast attended by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and dozens of foreign officials, three sources told the Daily Beast.

The event took place at the Trump International Hotel around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 18, several days before Trump's inauguration, the online outlet reported.

Diplomats from dozens of countries were reportedly in attendance.

that this investigation will have to be so broad in scope and depth that the constant pressure from President and his minions that it will either get rushed or by the time it properly comes out it will have taken so long that it will have to have definitive proof to have an impact on the American people.

the powers that be on both sides of the aisle will choose an easy, smoother way out (resignation, buy out) rather than upsetting the apple cart with the truth.

I believe there's enough public info out there to suspect that this is the biggest scandal in american political and criminal history, with worldwide implications. Trillions and trillions on the line. superpower reputation and leadership status is on the line.

I'm sure the power behind the scenes is demanding to know what is going to happen and how the ride downward can be softened. I've kind of interpreted the silence and complicity of the gop as evidence that there's a plan in place and they think they will get through this intact...as though they have a plan and have faith that the overwhelming power and wealth of TPTB will exert enough pressure in enough places to protect their own. Battle between Justice and those who believe they are owed the future they want.

order to limit political, international, stability, and democratic damage. He could easily convince himself to be the 'interpreter' of the mueller report...and that the FBI should have it's house cleaned in order to give rationale for discounting the report.

Not necessarily party over country...but just like Cheney he thinks he knows what's best and that the ends justify the means.

Mueller's office is looking into the breakfast as part of his probe into whether foreign donors illegally channeled money into Trump's inaugural fund and a pro-Trump super PAC, as first reported by The New York Times last month.

Prosecutors are probing whether the alleged donations were made in an attempt to buy influence over U.S. policy.

The investigation is focused on whether people from Middle Eastern countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, disguised donations they made to both funds by using straw donors, the Times reported.
