Exclusive: ex-New Jersey governor, who had prosecuted Kushners father, was sacked as head of Trumps transition team

Chris Christie, who was ousted as chairman of Donald Trumps White House transition team in 2016, has written a blistering attack on Jared Kushner, whom he accuses of having carried out a political hit job on him as an act of revenge for prosecuting his father, Charles Kushner, a decade ago.
In his soon to be published book, Let Me Finish, Christie unleashes both barrels on Trumps son-in-law, who remains a senior White House adviser with responsibilities for Middle Eastern peace, sentencing reform and American Innovation.
Christie blames this key player in the presidents inner circle for his ignominious dismissal shortly after Trumps election victory in November 2016. Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, writes that Kushners role in his sacking was confirmed to him by Steve Bannon, Trumps campaign chief, in real time.
As Bannon was carrying out the firing, at Trump Tower in New York, Christie forced him to tell him who was really behind the dismissal by threatening to go to the media and point the finger at Bannon instead.

(32,917 posts)Look at how Jeff Sessions was treated. If Christie had been chosen as AG he would have have had to recuse himself also. He worked on the campaign for several months and must have known at least some of what they were doing. Maybe not colluding himself, but I'll bet he knew about the Russian collusion and the dark money. Christie would have been in the same boat as ol' Jeffy-boy.

(2,419 posts)means it's time to roll this out again. https://www.democraticunderground.com/10024395877 I'm sure there isn't much about these little issues from his time in public life. I'm sure the whole "Trump thinks I'm fat" and "the guy who's dad I put in jail screwed me" are all very entertaining. As much as Christie looks like a boy scout compared to Trump, never forget that he isn't. He hasn't been a guest in Jerry Jones' box for playoff games since he left office. You think that might be because Christie can't steer multi-million dollar contracts his way anymore or is it because they weren't really "friends" in the first place?

(26,060 posts)signed an NDA before I'd believe one word of this. According to the guardian article, donnie himself comes off as simply the victim of other people's choices - I want to know if that's because Christie is not allowed to tell otherwise.
