I'm hoping that William Barr is playing trump

Barr actively campaigned for the job by saying everything trump wants to hear. He made sure everyone in trump's orbit saw the memos.

But he's supposedly friends with Mueller. As a former DOJ guy, I assume he has respect for the law and hates traitors.

Maybe his plan is to get back in the seat to make sure trump can't stop the investigation?

Desperate theory, but maybe??

C'mon - even Di-Fi admitted that she didn't even know what the emoluments clause was...

...Tells me this isn't a serious challenge.

Looks more like a show...

6. I would not put such high motives on him. More like Whitaker or Boofer Brett maybe.

Those other two also performed for Trump in order to get a job. But it was purely selfish motives -- Trump was the one with the power to offer said jobs, so of course they sucked up to him and angled to get his attention. Perhaps Barr was campaigning for the job, but I'm skeptical of any high-minded ideals. He's still a Repuke willing to associate with Trump after all. That fact alone must temper our expectations of his honor.

7. I just posed the same theory to my husband. As Barr is 68, I can't see why he would want to

be AG to defend the indefensible. Why would he knowingly subscribe to being a pariah when history is written. I pray that his rationale is based on his regard for the rule of law. Too optimistic? I hope not!!!

of someone who wants Mueller to finish his investigation or even Mueller Or is his job to hide the report? His past with Iran-Contra gives one Pause. Is he playing the president with the memo or us with his responses during these hearings. We have to hope for the best because we can't block him.

Honestly? I thought the same thing. It would not surprise me if Mueller and Rosenstein work party to all of this or maybe just Rosenstein. I also think they’re at least well aware if not directly I involved in the recent news and leaks and stories about Trump being a Russian agent.

I will now attempt to loosen my tinfoil dome.

Then I'm downright despondent, because I had this thought too.

I think we're both very wrong, but I can certainly understand why we wish this were true.
