I'd like him to be gone too, but unless the Senate convicts, voting him out is the only other option bearsfootball516 Jan 2019 #14

...but I can't see him being the nominee at all. That will go to a semi-or-never-Trumper (like Rmoney).

Trump knows he's safe because the Senate won't vote to convict him. He stays and becomes the nominee, and loses the 2020 general.

While certainly possible and widely expected, I am holding out hope Mueller knows how dirty Pence is and unseals an indictment at just the right moment that makes him ineligible and gives us President Pelosi. I am well aware this scenario is in mind due partly to my own wishful thinking, but it is nonetheless possible and the only way forward for our country I can see in these dark times.

Mueller has the goods on him as well for his role during the campaign, during the Transition, and since the Inauguaration.

about 2016 being a fraudulent - yes, STOLEN - election and do whatever is in their power to minimize the damage. While the Cons would obviously fight hard against this, it is important for the Trump administration to go down in history as illegitimate, as an acknowledgement that Americans realized the threat we were facing to our Democracy.

Even just several house votes to this end would at least be recorded as some move in the direction of American principles and morality. In this era, it is dangerous to fall back on the premise that “we’ve never reversed an election in our history”, as everything happening now is unprecedented.
