COLUMBIA, SC
Sen. Bernie Sanders is speaking at a town hall on Monday in Columbia.

The town hall will follow Sanders’ previously announced appearance at the annual King Day at the Dome rally at the S.C. State House, the S.C. NAACP confirmed Friday.

The town hall will be held at Zion Baptist Church, 801 Washington St., after the end of the State House rally at approximately 1 p.m. It will be a moderated forum hosted by the S.C. NAACP.

Sanders’ office said more details of the event would be released later on Friday.

He's not organizing it or holding it, he's speaking at it. As your snippet says, it's hosted by the S.C. NAACP.

From the Charlotte Observer:

The democratic socialist U.S. senator from Vermont is one of two prospective presidential candidates taking part in Monday’s State House rally. U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., also will speak at the event.

Awkward!!

that most blacks were poor and hanging around on street corners.

This would be good exposure for him and his campaign where he will meet some real world African Americans many of whom are doctors, lawyers, administrators, nurses, teachers, policemen, firefighters etc.

He may also be persuaded to not equate economic justice with social justice like he was prone to do.

Good for Bernie. Education is always good and it is never too late.
