Here is the specific text of Mueller's statement per CNN.

"BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's Congressional testimony are not accurate," said special counsel spokesman Peter Carr in a statement.

Carr's statement is extremely rare. The special counsel's office has almost never commented on published stories.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.

But they are still running with polling data from 2016 that was within the margin of error.

All they care about is winning and "owning the libs" not being right.

It is what it is.

But the statement is pretty damning, regardless. As I said in that thread, all the Trumpers needed was a sliver of doubt to run with their Fake News narrative. And they will run with it.

They are still running with polling data from 2016...

6. It's time for Mueller to summarize what he has. This recent BuzzFeed story is not going to play well

now that Mueller has thrown water on it.

It's a joke listening to MSNBC try to cover their rears, and the "former" US Attorneys and experts twisting themselves into a pretzel. Their ideals are in the right place, but this ain't much better than Fox or a Russian bot.

We can't ever be like the other side, manufacturing the reality we want rather than living in the one we have.

I am still shocked, though, because this pretty much wrecks Buzzfeed. If this is what it appears to be, I don't see how a news organization recovers from a bungle this big. Especially a newer one like Buzzfeed.

Even if the story is only partially inaccurate, the statement still gives Trump and how cohorts tons of cover.

Trust me. I wish this wasn't the case.

Though I think it is more likely the reporter's sources fabricated the quotes. No reporter is going to intentionally commit career suicide for no apparent reason.

I think it is very likely the people at Buzzfeed believed this 100% up until, well, now.
