It certainly wasn't a thing I would even have contemplated doing as a boy. And my Mom, a former Catholic Nun, would never have let me do something like that even if the parish priest demanded it. But even in my teenage years I knew in my heart that racism was very, wrong despite what the Catholic church pushed.

These kids were primed and ready for a confrontation and the school administrators and faculty were the ones who coached and aimed them. The school faculty and administrators were using those boys.
