McConnell blocks bill to reopen government - Again! 1/23/2019

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blocked legislation on Wednesday that would reopen most of the government...

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) went to the Senate floor to ask for consent to take up the House-passed bill that would fund every agency and department impacted by the partial shutdown, except the Department of Homeland Security, through Sept. 30.

McConnell, however, objected. It's the fourth time he's blocked the bill to reopen most of government. He has also blocked, as recently as Tuesday, a House-passed bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security through Feb. 8.

Democrats have been coming to the floor on a near-daily basis while the Senate is in session to try to bring up the House package, even though the GOP leader has said he will not allow them to come to the Senate floor.

Apparently, this is Moscow-Mitch's method of getting Dems to vote for the 5.7 B.
Not a good strategy!

If he has a 70% approval, !%*@#%#!!

They are not being educated. That must change, now. I think he is up for reelection 2020. Time for him to go.

Almost forgotten in all the noise.....way back when first election cycle when 10 mil. was "donated" to him by that Russian/american citizen.
apparently some of it was to go to ryan and the rest of the tea party critters to help with their voting.

said it best,Mitch McConnell could give a rats ass about the people affected or even Trump. He is all about being Senate Floor leader, and the trappings that come with that title.

She said this will not change until the Rethug Senators are deluged with Phone calls,e-mails and Letters. She also mentioned, the Rethugs are willing to support Trump due to their Collusion with various Russian Money brokers.

Not for Trump, not for American citizens, but for the entrenchment of the power of the current majority leader of the U.S. Senate.

If he thought for a second that there was some power-enhancing advantage to re-opening the government, over Trump's objection if need be, it would have been done half a hour ago.
