i suspect Putin would like him to support so-called "democratic" reforms that enable the capitalists to install a neo-fascist autocrat similar to Brazil. probably would be easiest to do covertly through intelligence operatives.

too soon to start a direct military intervention -- that needs to wait until no earlier than Nov. 2019 or Americans will get bored of it before the election.

The government of Venezuela deserves no support as it is run by a despotic regime. Which another such regime, Cuba is supporting.

I don’t want an embargo on either and support open relationships with both.

And while I support personally the opposition in both nations I do not think it helps to have the US doing so with our history intervention.

Of course the same can be said for Saudi Arabia.
