The REAL State of the Union

The country is being run by Putin’s lapdog, who is currently under investigation for – among other things – being a Russian asset who has acted for the benefit of the country that interfered with our elections.

The “pResident” has now surpassed telling over 8,000 lies to the citizenry. He is a barely functioning illiterate, who doesn’t understand how the government works – and still has no desire to do so.

The “pResident” has surrounded himself with incompetent yes-men, many of whom have been indicted, or have had to resign under a cloud of corruption. Our country’s policies are being dictated by a clueless shoe designer and her equally clueless husband, a smarmy idiot son, and a collection of TV personalities who are as dumb as they are obnoxious.

There are still innocent children locked in cages, and parents who have no idea where their children are. We are regularly told that we are being invaded by “caravans” that materialize and disappear with equal frequency.

Our standing in the global community has been diminished, our allies think the “pResident” is a moron, and our infrastructure is crumbling.

Our environment is being polluted, while those in charge of protecting it look the other way.

Wages are stagnant, while billionaires enjoy the tax cuts that have ballooned our deficit to the highest level in our nation’s history – a staggering debt that will ultimately be paid off by middle-class workers.

Our free press is under constant siege by a lying, corrupt “pResident”. The institutions that preserve and protect our country are being undermined on a daily basis, and our Republican-led senate is nothing more than a barely-functioning rubber stamp for every childish and destructive whim of the madman in the Oval Office.

Many of our vets are homeless. Many of our sick are dying for lack of affordable healthcare. Many of our children fear going to school because they are afraid of being gunned-down in their classrooms.

The country that once proudly stood as a beacon of hope for the oppressed has been reduced to a symbol of intolerance. The country that once welcomed strangers with open arms is now run by xenophobes. The country that once proudly held its head high now cowers in disgrace as its “leadership” stokes fear, encourages violence, and applauds ignorance.

As we stand right now, those who serve as our first line of defence against terrorism are working without pay, and are relying on charity to pay their bills and feed their families. In addition to the 800,000 federal workers who are directly impacted by a government shutdown, millions more are affected. Many small businesses will not survive due to their reliance on customers who cannot afford their services. Entire communities will fail as the result of a bloviating idiot cutting off their sources of revenue.

Our democracy’s survival is now on life support, and our vital signs are beginning to flatline. We are where we are because a corrupt traitor – aided, abetted, defended and enabled by a corrupt political party – knows he’s about to be brought down. He has no other agenda than to fend off the investigations into his crimes, in hopes of delaying the inevitable.

In summary, the United States of America – once the greatest power on the planet – is now officially a “shithole country”.
