Has made a lot of people forget who Biden is.

That is really a pretty big statement as to how much we respect and appreciate Obama and how well he led while being President.

Joe reaches across the isle (*gasp!*). Joe gives speeches for money (*YOW!*). Joe said nice things about a GOP candidate's work on defeating cancer after Joe's son dies of cancer (*NOOOOOO!*).

It's no secret that Democrats and GOP sometimes like one another. Ted Kennedy was well known for it.

I read that when Senator Kennedy was going through his heavy drinking spell, the one person that was always there to lift him up was Orrin Hatch. The picture of it all floored me.

This bi-partisan fetish of the DC establishment gets in the way of actually helping people.

Which simply isn't going to happen in the current political environment, which the Rs are entirely responsible for.

He is still optimistic so I can't fault him for that. You would hope he would see, especially after the way they treated President Obama, that today's Republicans are not the Republicans he served with. They are now fascists.

But Mr. Biden was not there to denounce Mr. Upton. Instead, he was collecting $200,000 from the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan to address a Republican-leaning audience, according to a speaking contract obtained by The New York Times and interviews with organizers. The group, a business-minded civic organization, is supported in part by an Upton family foundation.

Mr. Biden stunned Democrats and elated Republicans by praising Mr. Upton while the lawmaker looked on from the audience. Alluding to Mr. Upton’s support for a landmark medical-research law, Mr. Biden called him a champion in the fight against cancer — and “one of the finest guys I’ve ever worked with.”

Mr. Biden’s remarks, coming amid a wide-ranging discourse on American politics, quickly appeared in Republican advertising. The local Democratic Party pleaded with Mr. Biden to repair what it saw as a damaging error, to no avail.
