how about Americans who live outside of the US who use American based airlines to travel somewhere else.

may do the bulk of the "domestic" flights with JFK handling some but almost all of the international (I went to Egypt through JFK). And the 3rd prong up there is Newark's Liberty airport that has picked up quite a bit of the traffic that normally went to LaGuardia or JFK.

...it's not as if the staffing problems won't increase.

It has the feel of fixing the wing with glue and twine.

It feels like a high stake gamble to keep the thing going.
