Speaker Pelosi and Minority Leader Schumer need to get as much of the government fully funded through the end of the year as possible. A temporary re-opening of everything via short-term CR is no good.

Trump and the Senate GOP are starting to crack. Don't put the country in a position where they can hurt us all again in a few weeks just because you want to end this pain immediately. The cumulative suffering will be less if we avoid a second round, even if it takes longer to end this first round.
