I don't want candidates to "go soft" during the primaries. I want all skeletons out of all closets.

The last thing we need is for some type of baggage to come out during the general election that wasn't fully addressed and dissected previously. I think this is a much bigger risk than candidates "being damaged".

Candidates who are "damaged" by primaries have no business getting the nomination. Good candidates are made stronger by primaries. Like when Obama had to deal with the Reverend Wright episode and people trying to pin Farrakhan on him. He easily brushed all that aside.

I want our GE candidate to be one that survived hellfire.

I want to know what they ***really*** support: medicare for all, min wage, social security, fair taxes, legalization, money in politics, etc, etc

I know the media will not want to focus on it - but I want it brought up and discussed.

somehow we failed to produce a single catchphrase that captured the most progressive plans since the New Deal and caught fire.

Last fall we let the idea and pictures of children in cages speak for themselves and instead hit "preexisting conditions" over and over across the nation, and that worked. The GE is very different, of course, but there's still a lesson about how to break through there. The grim specter of losing critically important coverage set a lot of people's hair on fire. And more got up and voted.

Since they have all jumped on the bandwagon of pro-people policies.

Now imagine if that had come out if he were our nominee after winning the primary.

Thankfully that didn't happen, but if anyone knew about that but didn't bring it up and it came out during the GE then that would be terrible.

I agree. Put it all out on the table.

Also, anyone who says they want candidates to go soft, be nice, not attack, or whatever usually just mean for THEIR preferred candidate.

about all candidates who might win the nomination. And it flatters and promotes those who cannot.

Hillary's server was certainly not some crime she kept hidden in her closet. It was a completely legal and ethical high-quality piece of equipment installed in the home of a cabinet secretary and ex-president to provide superior security. To the best of our knowledge, btw, it has never been successfully hacked.

And that's what I mean. No way people can protect against having any detail of their lives weaponized. Or against being accused of eating children's faces. One swiftboating organization alone claimed they had 5 new "scandals" all designed, developed, and ready to launch when Hillary was elected.

At the same time left-wing splinter candidates were promoted by the same swiftboat operations and at least one authoritarian dictator as the true voices of the people.

2020 will be the same. Voters have to learn to see through the smoke and explosions on the battlefield to the truth.
