He first dug us out of the beginnings of a great depression brought on by years of GOP rule. Worked against the GOP mantra that they would make him a one term President. They tried to muzzle him, beat him and destroy him. They failed.

He was the better man and true to the American spirit.

Obama must fully understand the vast danger to POC posed by the rising ugly, vicious authoritarianism on the right. For all of us, our vote is our power. If we lose it, all people will suffer dreadfully, but most of all those who are traditional targets for right-wing hostility, discrimination and every type of abuse.

The Republican Party's support for executing people in the street and the deliberate, vicious cruelty to children as government policy to direct their parents' behaviors -- and the obedient support by its increasingly authoritarian voters -- are huge clues to what we're all in for if we lose.

It's sad that our great strides forward in minority and women's rights have helped fuel a resistance that is being harnessed by the extremists controlling the right to destroy them along with our democracy. But that's where we are.

As you say, we need fight this as one, to save our national liberal democratic foundation. The midterms told us what our increasingly aware majorities really want, but voters only dealt the massive forces on the right a setback and they have no intention of losing.

Obama cares very much about the outcome, he tried to warn us. He told us all to vote. Many of us heeded his words. Some just seemed to not care and some just wanted to tear it all down and start from scratch.
