So, I'm not worried. The Commonwealth of Virginia is in good hands with him.

(42,831 posts)Going back and re-reading the VA Code, it is clear that the legislature fills a vacancy in the office of Attorney General. But there doesn't appear to be a parallel provision for the Lt. Gov. Back in 1971, the Lt. Gov. died in office -- in that instance, it appears that an election was held to fill the vacancy. But i'm not sure if the law has changed since then or not.
