Donald Trump can no longer depend on the Republican Senate to cover his ass.

The final straw may have been the televised hearing with the Intelligence chiefs the other day? It was public and on TV for all to see.

Yet, Trump said they were misrepresented and mis-characterized. He called it "fake news". Each and every one of the Intelligence leaders disputed Trump's claims regarding our national security.

This was after the 35-day shutdown of our government. Republicans had rebelled and fought amongst each other about who was to blame. Sen Ron Johnson blamed Mitch McConnell.

Now, we read that McConnell just had a meeting with Trump and informed him that it would not be such a good idea for him to declare a "national emergency" over the border security "wall". If there was a vote on the issue, he could not guarantee that a presidential veto would not be over-ridden.

Trump has been put on notice. The Republican Party is now looking at their own survival moreso than the survival or popularity of Donald Trump.

The political equation in Washington has changed.

What is outrageous today will be normalized by next week. They will never not cover for him.

with the Russians.

I truly believe that’s what is behind his support for tRump. Mitch got millions from a Russian oligarch, a fact that the media has had no interest in exploring. Why?

...was an earth-shaking event, even for many Republicans.

It was like they have seen evidence the public does not yet know about?

lots of inside info about tRump, and that they all know he’s a criminal who continues to commit crimes.

Remember back in early 2017 when Ds came out of that briefing on tRump and were vidibly upset with what they had heard? It’s only gotten worse since then.
