I hadn’t noticed how much shorter the person in the hood is, but the picture was on TV as I read this and it’s quite possible.

Which would mean there was planning and coordination... no way he’d forget about that.

Edit: the other person in the picture does appear to be taller than his wife, for whatever that’s worth. They got married in 1987, only a few years later, so I was wondering whether he could be protecting her.
