This is what Ralph Northam has wrought.
I am not willing to risk the future of my party defending this clown.

(15,751 posts)As a pragmatist, seems that getting rid of Northam should cut losses short term. Longer term, the purists, etc. will continue to create advantages for the 'cons.

(21,703 posts)So Northam in black face 35 years ago now defines the Democratic party as racist and undeserving of the black vote? I'm not defending HIM, he should step down.......... but letting one person define the party is lunacy. Stupid question.

(31,261 posts)But there are a set of core principles that unite those democrats:
- Every human being, despite what they look like, who they love or what God they worship is a peer of ours and deserve all the protections that we enjoy.
- A belief that government plays a meaningful positive role in everyone's life.
- A willingness to help those that are having a hard time, lift them out of the water and carry them until they can swim on their own.
- A funding essential government services and societal infrastructure is in everyone's best interests.
As long as we keep that in perspective, we will be ok.

(50,329 posts)There might not be a black face photo of him, but it wouldn't surprise me for a second if there was. In any case, Trump wasn't joking around in his past. He denied apartments to people of color . . . among other things.

(99,719 posts)Well, not exactly zero, but Trump received 8% in 016 and the Repugs received 9% in the 018 mid terms.

(14,565 posts)After all, it is a 90-10 demographic. This question would not be posed without that type of tilt.
How can anyone be surprised at the question? That is a butchering of situational grasp. We don't receive a 90-10 benefit of a doubt, even if that would be proper and on the low end. This era revolves around instant reaction.
Simple remedy: Resign and this is all but forgotten within a month. The Donald Trump era does not allow sidelight issues to linger.

(12,448 posts)The Democratic Party is ALWAYS responsible for everything every Democratic official does, but there are still "good Republicans" despite Trump, Steve King, Stephen Miller, etc. etc. etc.
I am NOT defending Northam; he definitely needs to go. But the anchor's question is so damn predictable, and stupid.

CNN is glad to help them out.

(25,296 posts)Why isn't the MSM & CNN calling for Trump's resignation.
Seems to me somebody really wants Trump to have a second term.
