Trump fumes over abortion comments at SOTU preview meeting

The gathering was called to detail the main themes of Tuesday’s speech for roughly 20 Republicans close to the administration.

By NANCY COOK 02/05/2019 12:18 PM EST Updated 02/05/2019 01:40 PM EST

In the middle of a State of the Union briefing for the White House’s closest allies Monday night, a fired up Donald Trump walked in.

The president appeared eager to give the annual speech Tuesday night in the House of Representatives, an occasion he has always enjoyed given its history and pomp and circumstance, said two people briefed on the meeting. But after acknowledging several supporters in the room, Trump went on for about five minutes about Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s recent comments about late-term abortions and "nonviable" babies born with fatal abnormalities.

In the company of several conservative leaders — including Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and Marjorie Dannenfelser of Susan B. Anthony List — Trump marveled that public officials were discussing already-born babies as part of the debate over late-term abortions. His brief diatribe left attendees with the impression that Trump viewed Northam’s comments as outrageous, and the situation the governor described as akin to murder.

Trump did not, however, mention the recent scandal about a picture in Northam's medical school yearbook that featured an individual in blackface and another dressed as a KKK member. Although Northam says he is not in the photo, the governor is still facing bipartisan calls to resign.

The White House press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

hundreds (if not more) sexual partners. Some of those women didn’t use birth control. I just did the math.

what I'm saying is he probably had to pay for it and being as cheap as he is, the prospect of him actually getting a professional pregnant is low and the probability of him impregnating someone he didn't pay to have sex with... well, I don't know.

More like he spread some nasty STDs more often than paying for termination.

10. I bet he's paid quite a few women to have abortions.

If he's surrounded by scantily clad women, he would likely unknowingly be drawn to the ones in the most fertile part of their cycles. (Strippers and exotic dancers are known to get better tips when they are most fertile.)

I wouldn't be surprised if he had an arrangement with an ob/gyn to take care of his problems with women getting pregnant or STDs.

for a match up he had once)...As much as rump seems to relish in walking all over the competition/other human beings and degrading them during the process, I wouldn't be one bit surprised. Hypocrite.

Really? This will only be his 2nd SOTU. Is Nancy Cook a Trumpian or someone that lacks understanding of politics?

how often he fantasizes that he gives the STOTU to adoring crowds. Maybe he thinks this is so much like his rallies that he thinks he does it all the time.

I hope he somehow totally flips out in the middle of the event. And I hope that a number of Democratic leaders will simply walk out when he hits a certain threshold in the lies, I'll give him two minutes.

revealed how Trump pressured them or paid them to have abortions so he wouldn't be responsible for the children that he fathered. I would almost bet my life on the fact that he has done this at least once.

He even wanted Marla to abort Tiffany and he was married to her. He's such a disgusting pig!
