(86,951 posts)A pardon is a tricky thing. If pardoned, the pardoned person can still be called to testify, and at that point after being pardoned, their right to claim the 5th does not exist.

but on WHO is gonna be the issue.
Nixon was told he could not pardon any of his "UN-idicted co-conspirators".

(115,987 posts)once a person has accepted a pardon they no longer can assert their 5th Amendment right to remain silent, and they'd have to testify if called to a grand jury or subpoenaed in some other proceeding.

He's going to pardon everyone, and it may hurt the GOP electorally in some "purple" states but they'll survive.
Christ, the GOP was the party of endless war 10 years ago and is now the most isolationist political party on earth.
They'll adapt and still win Wyoming.
