I am unconvinced he is a plus for Trump. In fact, I see it as not impossible that he topples the whole house of cards.

(11,662 posts)I don't think you can trust much what any these dirty bastards will do however. I think odds are he'd do whatever he could to undermine the investigation.

Stinky The Clown
(67,846 posts). . . . . as just said, he and Mueller are old and current friends.
He is actually respected by left and right.
He very oddly seemed to actively campaign (troll??) for the Trump AG job.
He is known to be a traditionalist.
Yet Trump picked him (which means someone told Trump to pick him).
Much of this is stuff that makes you go hmmmmm.
Again, all speculation, but not impossible.

he may be a "set up" - but I'm a "believe it when I see it" person.

(6,916 posts)Which means the President gets to do whatever he wants with DOJ and FBI. Including firing Mueller and every other senior DOJ official.
He wrote a long badly argued memo saying Mueller was bad.
He was involved in the Iran-Contra pardons.
We could go on. Bill Barr is part of GOP power-before-country. He will be a bad AG.
And the GOP senate doesnt care about the country: theyre approving him to protect the president. Party before country.
