I've been there. Over 50, between jobs, and my only health coverage was the Republican one: PRAY YOU DON'T GET SERIOUSLY ILL.
It sucked bigly. Now I have Medicare. It's not perfect, but it is affordable and will cover most of my health care needs. And it is a palatable step toward single-payer for all. Please let your congress critters know that you support this bill! Thank you on behalf of my fellow Americans.

I've been on Medicare since last April, and I love it.

My wife still has 2.5 years to go, and what we're paying for hers is almost as much as it was for the both of us four years ago. Plus, it doesn't cover as much.

............are on Medicare and LOVE it. In fact, the other day they were telling me that they were probably just going to drop their private insurance altogether and just go with Medicare. I didn't say anything, but my smirk was probably heard loud and clear. These are people who are always railing against the evils of Socialism and Big Government. But boy do they love them some Medicare.
