(9,282 posts)She often emphasized how her upbringing was as conventional as his was not. Part of what makes them a great combination. A love story for the ages.

But the profound warmth and love between them -- instead of being embarrassed by observing their closeness, you feel like it's OK to be pulled into it, like they're totally cool with sharing it with everyone, and I mean everyone.

(91,047 posts)Really -- this country voted Obama in twice. I always knew we were not "post-racial" (that was just a dumb thing the media said) -- but the majority of Americans voted him in.
Same with Hillary -- she won the popular vote, and it took treason to keep her from taking office.
We'll never be post-racial or post-misogyny, but by gods the majority of us are not knuckle-dragging trolls, either. I come so close to despair sometimes -- so I remind myself of that.
Thanks for this lovely post.

(63,221 posts)These pictures are so heartwarming. They make me want to cry.
Such a far cry from the vulgar, hateful couple currently occupying the White House. I can't wait until they are gone and we no longer have to witness their contempt for each other.
