Hannity Goes Off on ‘Lazy Overpaid People in the Hate-Trump Media’ for Coverage of His Relationship With Trump

Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that the White House called both Hannity and Lou Dobbs with a message on the compromise border bill that “Mr. Trump deserved support because he still forced concessions that he would never have gotten without a five-week partial government shutdown.” Hannity denied it ever happened and called the report fake news.

Hannity addressed the issue on his radio show this afternoon, but on Fox tonight he said the media is “obsessed” with the idea that Trump is influenced by him and other prominent conservative commentators. He again denied receiving a call by the White House before going back to referring to himself as “the whole newspaper.”

“What you have in the media right now is obsession,” he said. “They’ve got blinders on and they’ve got this prism in which they see Donald Trump. Lazy overpaid people in the hate-Trump media so blinded by their hatred and rage for Donald Trump, they need to get their own sources of information, instead of falsely speculating about mine.”

Hannity continued, “Nobody in the media has ever, ever come close to describing the relationship that I had with the president that goes back well over two decades. And by the way, if one exists, I wouldn’t tell you anyway.”
