Here's why impeaching the maniac won't work

The House votes on impeachment. The Democrats control the House and it's a certainty that he'd be impeached.

The next step is a trial in the Senate. If found guilty, two thirds of the Senate must vote to remove him from office.

The House vote is a given. But two thirds of the Senate voting to remove him from office is as unlikely as the tooth fairy leaving a winning lottery ticket under your pillow.

Seems that we're going to have to wait until 2020 to get rid of him.

But wait a minute. Will he lose the next election? After all, Russia is still hacking into our election system. Many states still have laws that prevent people from voting. Electronic voting machines still require assurance that votes will be counted correctly. And many votes get "lost" in many states.

So if impeachment won't work and another election is stolen by Republicans, does that mean we're doomed to another four years of the madman?

One has got to wonder what it's going to take before the vast majority of sane people in this country realize that the system is rigged. And then do something about it.

1. Nonsense. The truth is going to be very bad.

The Mueller results and the results from other investigations (NY and the House) are going to be bad. Very very bad.

This is what people for some reason keep ignoring.

Senate Republicans have already forced Trump to sign a funding bill with no wall. The President is weak.

The 25th amendment is going to come into play...that man’s health is going to bring him down.

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/02/trump-risk-serious-cardiovascular-event-former-cheney-cardiologist-calls-independent-investigation-presidents-health/

Here’s an excerpt...

“He is not moving in the right direction,” he said regarding Trump’s general health in the wake of a newly released annual Presidential checkup. “The president’s weight has gone up, his cholesterol hasn’t gone down. We know he has coronary disease and he is on a train going to a destination that he does not want to arrive at. If you don’t treat these risk factors like high cholesterol and you don’t reduce elevated weight and you don’t do exercise, you are really increasing your risk of having a heart attack. I calculated the president’s risk of having a serious cardiovascular event — it’s 17 %.”

When host of Outfront, Erin Burnett asked if that was high, the doctor answered in the affirmative.

“That’s super high,” he noted, adding: “To turn that around, the president needs to get moving, lose some weight, really drop the carbs in his diet and get his cholesterol way down. It would be good to see him moving in a different direction than he seems to have gone over the last year.”

He doesn’t take anyone’s advice, he thinks he knows best, we all know what he likes to eat, the presidency is a high stress job...

It kinda all adds up. Well here’s hoping.

5. I really don't want us to be deprived of justice

due to a heart attack.

I doubt if we could survive another president like Trump, only a bit more intelligent. This man must be made to face what most of us believe to be the truth. -- That he is a true "Manchurian Candidate." That Putin owns him, for a variety of reasons, from money laundering to salacious videos, to cash contributions to his campaign.

If any or all of these things occurred, they must be made public. This scam artist must be exposed for the phony piece of garbage that he is. Perhaps, just maybe, those who voted for him and are sticking with him will "get it." Perhaps they won't be taken in again. Then again, how much confidence can we have that anyone who voted for him, won't vote for another person unfit to lead a democracy?

and his dying before that is achieved would deprive us of restoring some faith in our country. Forget those who voted for him, cultists are a lost cause. Besides, we really do outnumber them, badly. Let's focus on GOTV and getting as many non-voters involved for the first time ever as we can.

First is the indictments of Kushner and Don Jr., which are going to happen.

So far Trump has desperately and laughably attempted to minimalize the relationships he’s had with key people, some of whom he has known for decades: Cohen, Manafort, Stone, Flynn.

That denial won’t work when you’re talking about his own family who will be indicted relating to subjects pertaining to his own campaign and questions about contacts with Russia.

The GOP has to run a candidate for President and when that candidate now has his own son indicted the optics for that will be horrible to the voting public. They’ll desperately look for any chance to have someone else on the ballot.

Second is if the Mueller report is made public and is so incredibly damning—and I honestly think it will be—that public sentiement for Trump craters, newspapers start demanding his resignation and Senators indicate they can no longer have Trump’s back.

We might not see impeachment then but only because enough GOP senators have convinced him either to resign or vacate the 2020 ballot.

There’s still a long road to hoe.

I think if he resigns after his sons get indicted, that is IT !!! And the indictments are indeed coming, my guess is in the next few months or sooner. I sure hope the report is as damning as you say. And it must be made public as you say.

It will have to be when "Ivanka" gets indicted to get trump to do anything like resigning. I could be wrong but I don't think indicting Kushner and Jr will do much besides piss him off more, but Ivanka will be the one that breaks him.

He's not going to sit there and watch Kushner, Don Jr and Ivanka get indicted. At the very least he will just pardon them all.

Arguably abuse of power, nepotism, cronyism.

Maybe the Republicans ignore that but they do so at their own peril.

My guess is that we've seen all the indictments anyway. The report will be submitted and people are going to fight about seeing that for the next year or two. Then he'll pardon everyone (except Cohen) before he leaves office. He will resign a week before the next inaugeration and Pence will pardon him.

7. Congress malpractice NOT to impeach

Just from what we know now, it would be congressional malpractice not to impeach. Even if the Senate aqcuits, for historical purposes, the House must vote to impeach. Let history understand how corrupt the current Senate is.

...huge Democratic turnout makes pulling off a theft pretty difficult. However, they can make it seem closer than it is, which has a big impact on the dominant narrative.

As for impeachment, the House has a constitutional duty that it can't ignore simply because the Senate is a criminal institution.

The Republicans have been protecting Trump every step of the way. But you have to remember when the shit hits the fan with the Mueller report the Republicans in the Senate will protect their jobs first. If that means turning on Trump they will. Don't forget, Trump has been backstabbing the Republicans in the Senate. He has put them in a bad place.

It will be all about their seats in the 2020 election.

I think that once the House presents the case for impeaching Trump, and the public sees the extent of the crimes that he's committed, the Senate will vote to convict. As you say, it's all about their seats, and they'll do whatever it takes to keep their power. If the public starts to turn agains trump, the Senate will remove him.
