A supermajority should be necessary for any lifetime appointment. The filibuster should never have been part of the process for judges. Mitch McConnell wouldn't have been able to play the games he had if he knew that Republican judges would require the same threshold. Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, and Kavenaugh would have all failed to reach the Supreme Court if a 3/5 supermajority vote was required. And who know how many other judges have been pushed through with only needing 50 votes

(535 posts)we should pack the Supreme Court, just enough to nullify McTurtle's dirty tricks. Either that or prepare for 30~40+ years of a conservative's wet dream. A seat was stolen from us, that must be answered or we invite them to do it again.
