https://www.campaignresearch.ca/single-post/2019/02/13/Conservative-Party-has-a-clear-lead-over-the-Liberal-Party-just-8-months-out-from-the-electionAmerica got it right in November when it gave the Republican KGOP fascists a midterm ass kicking the likes of which is rarely seen and all polls point toward Dotard getting thrown out in 2020 if not before by Mueller first!
From Obama to the 2018 midterms, America more often than not gets it right and is a true moral beacon for the world. Friends like the UK and Canada seem to be embracing fascism (many years of Conservative governments off and on now) while Liberalism really is on the march in the US. Trump is just an aberration brought to us by Putins interference.
God bless the USA!

(1,835 posts)US elected Obama while Canada had neocon ass Harper for almost all that time. US getting rid of Dotard next year while Canada will be in just year one of its new fascist regime.

(1,588 posts)It's hard to believe they would go as extreme as tRump, but I believe they were a little surprised how far left Trudeau has led them. The whole damn world is getting too extreme...

and imho the "whole world" isn't getting too extreme, the right is and the left needs to catch up to balance that...and to save the planet btw

(1,588 posts)My wife and her family is from Canada, so I hear a lot how "extreme" things are up there. To me they aren't extreme either, but I'm not Canadian. Imho the "whole world" is getting more extreme. The right definitely is and maybe it just seems to me that the left is because of the greater separation of the two.

(6,709 posts)but with the complete absence of communists or even true socialists in US politics, I'd say we don't have anybody who is "far left" and--I could certainly be mistaken--I don't believe Canada does either. Certainly Trudeau isn't.

(1,835 posts)Farage in the UK and the Ford Brothers in Canada meet the criteria for fascists, imo, and these 3 are at the core of the conservative base in their respective countries.

(95,014 posts)...and May's failed votes on Brexit show that she's not running roughshod over the political process.
As for Canada, the Ford brothers are obnoxious conservatives, but I'm not aware of any civil rights violations of Canadian law that would approach "fascism".
