(22,919 posts)By the time it gets down to the General, our choices are pretty limited. But I am in favor of Democrats requiring the release of taxes in order to participate in Democratic presidential debates, or any other other legal way to require their release. No one should be able to run for the Democratic nomination without releasing their taxes.

(19,286 posts)Let's eat our own now., Bernie has shown more than Trump and is worth a fraction of what Trump is, but let's attack Bernie.
We've seen enough, but sure, let's see the rest, Bernie is among the poorest Senators to serve in modern times.

(22,976 posts)Although I get why you feel that way. But every candidate should do this.
Its not just an individuals net worth thats to be examined, its to see where the income originated, what deductions were taken, degrees of debt and to what entities, etc., all toward avoiding another Trump.

Total employees a couple of people.
Millions of dollars from the campaign went to it.
It existed solely as a shell company to funnel campaign money into ad buys.
The tax returns would show it.

(31,261 posts)Maybe that is why there has not been tax returns. I really think there is much more, like Bernie being a millionaire several times over and having investments in companies that he pillor other people about having ownership stakes in, even when those people were unaware of the investments.
