Oh my
Bernie Sanders is setting a new fundraising bar for 2020 Democrats.

The Vermont senator raised $3.3 million on Tuesday from 120,000 individual donors in the first 10 hours after announcing his presidential campaign. Thats according to a person familiar with the campaign who wasnt authorized to publicly disclose the early numbers and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The fundraising haul is more than double the $1.5 million that Sen. Kamala Harris raised in the first 24 hours of her campaign. The California Democrat had been the biggest first-day fundraiser in the race so far.

(4,377 posts)..and basically driven out after Hillary won the nomination. It was handled extremely poorly, and a lot of people should feel extremely ashamed of themselves for their stupid, divisive behaviour. Unfortunately we're now seeing many of those same people acting in exactly the same divisive way only a day after Bernie announces he's running.
This place is going to be an absolute mess for the next 18 months unless something is done about stopping the pointless attacks that only serve to drive Democrats apart.

(14,971 posts)plus name recognition . No surprise. Comparing him to other Dem candidates that were state politicians but not as well known to the American public at large is pointless.
