Truth.

The anonymous person on the receiving end of your keyboard, they are a living breathing human being. Think about that for a moment. Think.

Fact is many are going through life traumas of living paycheck to paycheck. Caring for aging parents. Mourning a child lost from violence. Loving. Living. And some are dying. Some just doing their best to survive.

We have watched the untold pain and suffering from, LGBTQ, all colors, religions, and women suffering under a trump regime. The increased violence.

Just stop for a moment. Stop!

We need to not only teach our children. We need to love one another. We no longer have time to waste. WE pull together now or the future will be lost. There is no time left. Clock is ticking. Tic Toc.

VOTE! Your life, your children's life and the future of our planet depends on it.

Wilbert Harrison, an African-American man wrote this at a time when America was in a particularly hateful place.

You would be surprised at what people have gone through in life. A little kindness from strangers goes a long way.

I don't leave home without them, and guests are subjected to them every time they're over. I've been playing these on albums, CD, etc. since they came out. Long ago and not far away (LOL, the last biggie was on the Chena, headed for the Tanana on a raft race).

PLAY THEM LOUD.

Employees after the shutdown. A TSA employee jumped to their death in Orlando. We flew there this weekend. It was sad. It was a good lesson though...they are stressed and we should all be extra nice to them.

Our society has degenerated far too much with regard to emotional relationships between citizens. When I say "emotional", I mean the practice of showing respect and unselfishness, providing affirmation and confirmation, expressing love, and just being old-fashioned ladies and gentlemen to our fellow man. Emotions are the real glue that bind us.

Those qualities are far too rare now, as I'm hearing a lot more self-centered behavior, expressions of extreme independence, frequent smart-ass and snark than say, 30-years ago.

It is indeed a special skill to try and be sensitive to the emotional impact of our actions on others and in our pressure-cooker world, it's easy to slip and forget. Physical and economic impacts are easy to see but emotional ones not so much.

Platforms like DU can be an excellent place to practice tolerance, open-mindedness and affirmation, but we need to take it to the street as well. If we don't, the right-wing will continue to drive us to be a cold, selfish society.
