Boy oh boy. I can't wait to see what the GOP primaries give us in 2024!

My political awareness was awakened on 9/11. Until that point, I was your typical white privileged male who really didn't need to pay attention to politics. I'd been told that our country was based on fairness and equality my whole life. And, as a twenty going into thirty something, I had no reason to doubt that statement. In short, I was one naive s.o.b. I had a great union job with a darling of wall street corporation. I was in a position, in my youth, in which I didn't have to really think about my vote, if I voted at all. I know, I know. Shame on me. Anyway, fast forward to 9/11.

Nothing like this had ever happened in my lifetime. Shit. Nothing like this had ever happened since the Brits burned down the White house! And we have a President telling the American people that this had happened because "they hate us for our freedom." Give me a fucking break. Sorry but I ain't buying that someone a half a world away is going to literally commit suicide based on my ability to watch porn or go to a strip club or whatever. I smelled bullshit. And while my choice of language and how I express myself may lead one to believe I'm not that bright, make that judgment at your own peril, dig?

Anyway, to make a long story longer, I started researching our hands in the middle east. And more importantly, I started paying attention. And I realized that at this moment in time, we had the dumbest sumbitch to ever occupy the, white house, occupying the white house. Jesus Christ was this man stupid. And we pulled through. In spite of him. Yes, the economy was destroyed, but we got through intact. And I thought, "good riddance. We'll never have someone that dumb in the White house again."

Then the GOP base fell head over heals in love with Sarah Palin. America's Great Northern Dingbat. A woman that made Edith Bunker come across as a fucking Rhodes scholar. A woman who made W look like an English major. Jesus H. Christ man! You people can't be serious. But they were.

And then... Comrade Combover. Holy shit. He makes the dingbat look like a Mensa member. How stupid can you possibly be? Admitting to obstruction of justice on TV. Admitting your emergency isn't an emergency. Attacking US intelligence and law enforcement. Those are enemies you can beat. Yeah, and in the immortal words of Wayne"s World, monkeys might fly out of my butt.

So, in closing. I'm fully expecting the GOP base to nominate a shoe in 2024. Or perhaps, a houseplant. In all actuality, they'll probably nominate an AR-15. Or even a Louis Ghomert. It staggers the mind.
