He said Barr has committed crimes and is actively obstructing justice. That this is the next step that House Democrats *will* take.
Swalwell is being interviewed right now.

(98 posts)I'll believe it when I see it because impeaching Barr or Trump is nothing but a pipe dream. It will NOT happen. We're gonna have to beat them at the ballot box. There's no other way...IMO!!

(17,635 posts)I feel validated that Swalwell is saying the same thing.
I think the House should take on WHOEVER is clearly violating the law. Barr looks like a good candidate to be first.

(2,025 posts)How could Barr stay involved in any "Mueller investigations" if he is currently under impeachment for lying to Congress regarding Mueller's investigation? It looks like a de facto forced recusal measure.

(23,002 posts)They made impeachment about barr and not trump. Barr doesnt give a crap. He'll replace Napalitano on Fox. Meanwhile none of the peoples legislation will go through the Senate, and putins president will continue to stymie any effort to correct voting issues, and hope something dreadful happens to RBG. God forbid.

(23,002 posts)At this point, what's to lose? According to reports those handed off cases were already set to go. What's the hold-up?

(15,307 posts)actually will benefit Dems. There will be a lot of information to come out that won't be favorable to Trump and will help any potential impeachment hearings against him.

(23,002 posts)Barr or trump? They WANT a binary choice right now. (Binary being his word of the day.) Let's make history and do a two for one?

(67,112 posts)Severe push back must be done. Otherwise, the US is well on its way to a failed democracy 2020 or not. Bit by bit, Trump is becoming more and more emboldened and authoritative as he works on his wannabee dictatorship. We've seen this pattern of behaviour in other countries. It MUST BE STOPPED NOW. Impeachment proceedings against Barr IMO is a good beginning. Raise the flag for Democracy!!!

We can start with legal experts who will come willingly and testify to the crimes that are right out in the open. Then invite Barr to defend himself. Then cross examine him.

(6,266 posts)Barr's has politicized the office of Attorney General.
He is aiding and abetting Trump's obstruction of justice with some of his own.
He's about as slippery and mendacious as they come.
Time to call him to task for it.
