Note to Republicans

The latest screeds from your party about wanting to investigate the origins (or ‘oranges’, as your “pResident” would have it) of the Mueller investigation sound like a lawyer trying to plead that his client can’t be prosecuted, because the cop who caught him red-handed with a bloody axe is his hands at the mass murder scene misspelled the defendant’s name on his paperwork – a ha! Game over!

“Due to this egregious error, You Honor, all evidence against my client is now suspect, and this case should be dismissed as a result thereof.”

I’m sure that strategy looked great on paper. It probably sounded completely reasonable at the roundtable discussions among the damage control contingent. Perhaps it was hailed as an idea so crazy, it just might work!

The fact is that it isn’t working. When you’re down to promoting the idea that if the Mueller investigation can somehow be found to be illegitimate, that somehow cancels out every indisputable fact that investigation unearthed, you are exuding nothing less than the stink of desperation.

Despite how ill-informed and ill-educated many Americans may be, most of them can detect the stench of flop sweat from a mile away.

I'm glad at the end you mentioned that a majority would see through these tactics. Of course, it is those who occupy the Trump base that will add this to their list of "proof" that this is all a sham.

How many Republicans do you believe spend their time reading posts at the Democratic Underground?

The corporate controlled M$M is complicit with Republicans. Barr with the aid of Grassley is investigating the crooked FBI and Democrats (Hillary) who carried out a witch hunt against Donald Trump. Trump wants to change the narrative away from the Mueller report, he wants the narrative to be that the Mueller report found nothing and it is over, let's move on to investigating the crooks who carried out this witch hunt.

I watched a bit more cable news than usual yesterday, I usually just watch Nicolle and Rachel, and I saw and heard every Republican repeat the same message, "the Mueller report is over, done, found nothing." The narrative in the M$M was starting to change had not Mueller written his letters to Barr. The Mueller report will stay in the news if Mueller gets to testify on May 15th, if Trump succeeds in keeping Mueller from testifying, the game is over, Trump and Republicans and the complicit M$M will control the narrative, unless Democrats decide to hold impeachment hearings. Without Mueller's testimony, without Democrats going to impeachment, Trump is going to put Hillary on the 2020 ballot.

Start suggesting he and others were guilty of wrongdoings, and trump will use barr and threaten Mueller with prosecution, and like they are starting to do to Biden. They'll make up stuff claiming guilt to direct attention towards them , and drag this out like they've done many times to Hillary finding nothing , but using it to distract away from themselves. trump will have others in the GOP parrot his talking points and accusations. Who I'd like to see appear before the House is Rod Rosenstein , and if he was threatened to do things or suggestions he'd either be in trouble for something and charged, or his pension threatened or suggestions he'd lose it. Barr is trump's political weapon , and Barr's ok with it as he's already shown.
