GOLETA, Calif. - An hours-long standoff involving a suspect who had fired on officers trying to serve an arrest warrant ended Tuesday afternoon when law enforcement found the man deceased inside the apartment.

Santa Barbara Police Department served an arrest warrant of a high-risk suspect at around 12:45 p.m. at the Positano Apartment complex on the first block of Camino De Vida in Santa Barbara County near Goleta.

The suspect fired multiple shots at officers and equipment which prompted other agencies to respond. A SWAT team was called into the scene as well as the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol and Probation Officers.
