Trump has busy night on Twitter, but skips school shooting

Hours after one student was killed and eight others wounded during a shooting Tuesday at a Colorado school, President Donald Trump had not personally commented on the attack. However, in the interim, he had chosen to tweet about a wide variety of other topics.

Opting not to join the chorus of elected officials expressing sympathy for the students and families impacted by the attack on STEM School Highlands Ranch, Trump focused Tuesday night on everything from the 2016 election to the economy.

Starting just after 9 p.m., the president tweeted and retweeted 11 times over the next 90 minutes. He retweeted about his approval ratings and a post celebrating the percentage of campaign contributions that came from women. He also tweeted about golf great Tiger Woods, whom he had awarded the presidential Medal of Freedom, and retweeted RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel criticizing Hillary Clinton for her campaign.

Trump's silence on the attack comes in contrast to past mass shootings, where the president has used Twitter to express his sympathies. Trump reached out to New Zealanders over Twitter hours after the March shooting in a mosque in Christchurch. On April 27, he tweeted about the fatal shooting at a synagogue in California.

I doesn't care about anyone but himself. He thinks the only ones in this country that matter, or those who voted for him, but he only really cares about their votes, not them as human beings.

And encouraged the world to get more weapons. I am not surprised by this.

And if it we’re baron lying dead, instead of this other kid, he would never get off Twitter.
